This item is the main key service unit for the NEC Aspire S phone systems. It ships 0x8x2 meaning that out of the box it is equipped to operate 0 phone lines, 8 NEC Digital Aspire phones and 2 Analog station ports.
NEC leaves it up to you as to which cards you decide to install into the KSU to operate incoming phone lines. You may choose a T-1 card, or PRI card or normal analog CO trunks.
This unit will ship with it's power supply.
The NEC Aspire S phone system was developed to deliver a great array of high powered phone system features of the NEC Aspire but in a phone system gears for 24 users or less.
It is possible to network over VoiP to any NEC Apsire phone system and the intention here was to use the Aspire-S phone system for branch offices where local dial tone is required but 4 digit dialing and transfer was wanted between all phone systems
The NEC Aspire S is very similar to the big NEC Apsire phone systems and is intended for business offices with less than 30 stations. Via VoiP networking, the Aspire S can converge the voice and data network. This will allow sharing pf the Aspire phone system features, even voicemail system if needed, also we do recommend that each location have a local voicemail.
The Aspire S allows a business to benefit from the potential cost-saving advantages of IP even if you’re not ready to migrate to 100% VoiP immediately. That’s because Aspire S is a huybrid phone system which will operate both IP and the more traditional key and pbx technology.
Aspire S uses peer-to-peer IP switching. “Peer-to-peer†basically means that any ip telephones that are interacting with a call are connected directly to each other through via the IP network. The voice and data signals travel through the IP network but do not “go through†the phone sysetms as they are forced to in a traditional key system.
The Aspire S in being a hybrid will network digital & analog switching, IP / TDM / IP switching and pure peer-to-peer IP switching allows the owner of the systems to continue use of their in place equipment and phase in IP as needed or desired with future growth in mind

The Aspire S phone system is NOT a plug and play phone system. The Aspire S KSU requires a Aspire NEC technician to install and program this phone systems.
